Do you feel tired and sleepy all day? Having hard time in getting the things done on time and the added pressure of piling up work makes you more anxious and restless? Your restless sleep could be the reason for all this disorganization.

Why Is It Important?

A good night’s sleep is essential for the body to be fully functional, and to cope with daily life routine. There are multiple factors that can disturb your sleep. The stress from the daily  routine, juggling the family, friends, work and personal time can be hard to manage most of the times. Dealing with all the stress and anxiety will make you feel tired and fatigued at the end of the day and to reboot yourself for the next day with same struggle, you need a good sleep.

Stress and fatigue are inevitable, but it can be well managed by following a few simple tips. What follows are ways to improve your sleep habits. A good sleep not only improves your health, but also elevates your mood and boosts your work efficiency.

How to Reset Your Internal Broken Clock

Here are the tips which you can follow to get a good sleep and achieve your daily goals with positive energy.

1. SET A REGULAR SCHEDULE.

Fix your sleep hours and follow the schedule strictly. Do not engage yourself in any other activity meantime. There is an internal clock you are playing with. Once you set it at right time, with little effort, the internal clock will put you asleep effortlessly.

2. USE YOUR BED SPARINGLY.

Go to the bed only when it’s sleeping time. It will train your brain that bed is associated with sleep. So when you go to the bed, the brain will automatically shut down all the open tabs in your mind and will put you to sleep, reflexively.

3. TURN OFF THE LIGHTS.

The brain releases a hormone called Melatonin, whenever you find yourself in dim light or dark room. This hormone is responsible for initiating the sleep cycle and ensuring the peaceful sleep.

4. DRESS MINIMALLY.

Avoid wearing tight clothes before going to bed.  It will make you feel uncomfortable and can irritate you all the time. Prefer loose fits and Minimal clothing to get yourself some room. It will help your muscles to relax fully.

5. READ BEFORE BED.

Reading a book maximally 30 minutes before bed is a good way to release all your energy and thoughts from brain, all the stress from work and disturbing thoughts. A book can help to bring all the attention to a single point, so that you can focus your mind and eliminate all the hindering mambo jumbo from your head.

6. MEDITATE OR EXERCISE.

If you are into yoga and exercise, try doing this before going to bed. It will help your body to release all the physical stress. You will feel feather light, trust me.

7. TURN OFF ELECTRONIC DEVICES.

It is really a bad habit if you watch TV or use phone until you fall asleep. Even if you sleep eight hours afterwards, you will not wake up feeling fresh. You will feel tired and fatigued all day. This is partly because of the Ultraviolet radiations from the phone screen and partly because this sleep wasn’t planned and brain was not ready to go to sleep, you just slept with physical fatigue.

Hope you have found these tips helpful. Try to follow these simple guidelines to improve your sleep. Have a good night.
