Springtime Activities To Do With The Family

Springtime Activities To Do With The Family

We are excited for the upcoming spring season; fresh flowers, warmer weather and brighter days are ahead! As we begin to look forward to spring, we have rounded up some fun things to do with family this season.

Farmers Market
Heading to the farmers market is one of our favorite fun family activities to do together. Picking up local and seasonal produce and creating delicious healthy meals together as a family is a fun way to get everyone involved and learn more about the season.

Nature Walks
Going on a nature walk is another great outdoor inspired activity. As the season changes, you can see the scenery transform right before your eyes. From the animals coming out of hibernation and new plants beginning to bloom, it is a wonderful way to get outdoors and explore the natural beauty of your area. Quick tip, make sure to wear rain boots, as trails tend to be a little soft from the winter snow.

Create A Springtime Ritual
Spring is all about the new, take this time to create a new routine for you and your family to spend time together. Perhaps, every Friday you make a meal together, or Sunday mornings you all spend time outdoors in the yard getting ready for the warm weather. Springtime is a great time to transition from indoor activities to outdoor time together and create new fun family activities.

Garden Together
Gardening is another activity that can involve everyone! As it is a little early to begin digging up your yard, take the coming weeks to discuss with your family what kind of plants they would like to grow this year. Together, do some research on the different types of plants, when they are in seasons and the best time to plant them. Once you have an idea of what you are going to plant, start preparing the space and tools you will need to help your garden flourish. This is a long term project, so it takes time, but once your crops start coming in, it is a wonderful prize for all of your hard work.

However, for you eager gardeners, you can begin the planning process indoors with smaller pots and transfer them outdoors once the weather gets better. Also, if you live in a condo or do not have much yard space to work with, try planting a balcony garden and turn your smaller space into a plant oasis!
