Wintertime Activities

Wintertime Activities

As the weather gets colder and the temperature begins to drop, our favorite outdoor activities like swimming and patio dates are no longer an option. However with the surge of cold weather, comes a whole bunch of winter activities that make the season great. Here are some winter pastimes you can try.

Skiing
This Olympic sport is a classic wintertime activity. Flying downhill at top speed is a rush any adrenaline seeker would enjoy. Research ski hills in your area and see which places offer lessons. Whether you are a seasoned pro or new to the skiing game, it is always a good idea to have a refresher on the sport.

Snowboarding
Similar to skiing, snowboarding is a great activity for those who enjoy the extreme side of winter sports. Once again, it is a good idea to have some practice lessons before attempting to go on your own.

Tobogganing
Would it be a classic outdoor activity list without tobogganing? The great part about this winter hobby, anyone can join and no skills are required! Just hop on your sled, and down the hill you go. A great way for all to have fun together in the snow.

Skating
A common winter activity that many partake in, skating is a great way to get outside and enjoy the season. Look for local arenas in your area, and if you are able to try an outdoor ice rink, we highly recommend it. The outdoor atmosphere at night is wonderful!

Playing In The Snow
Remember the days of building forts and having a snowball fight? If you are lucky enough to have snow in your area, get outside and play in the snow. Some classic ways to enjoy the snowy weather are: make a fort, have a snowball fight, build a snowman or make snow angels. This is a great way to get outside with your children and have some fun.

Although it may be getting colder outside, it doesn’t mean the outdoor amusement needs to end. Bundle up and head outside for some lively winter pastimes.
